I won't say who I voted for as I'm sure it will become obvious, but he was definately the one which I have always found hardest to wipe off the battlefield! Whenever I see him, I know it's going to be a long game. |

I was going to say sauron but, with the extra movement and attacks I give it to the witch king. |

If it were one on one, without regard to points, the Balrog would win (I've tried him v Sauron many times, Balrog won most of them) but in an actual game, he not that bad. |

A balrog for me because he's the most intimidating.when i was a total noob to the hobby i remember playing against sauron with the ring and being terrrified. i can imagine a Balrog being ALOT more menacing |

Well I went for Sauron with ring, the balrog would have been 2nd and the witchking 3rd. I find the balrog can be killed quite easy in a fight if you can surround him and get Rumil in there and a couple ents (or dwarf heroes like Dain with the +1 to wound), as for witchking you always know hes going to run out of will and disappear so I'm never too concerned with him, I just they keep feeding him random warriors when the chance arrises (and if they pass the courage test, which can get annoying!). |

Hard to answer that really…some models are ‘scary’ on their own or vs. only an equal points in troops but may not work well in an army. Take the Balrog for example as has been recently discussed. It and Sauron can generally be limited a little during a game by playing well…unless the scenario required that specific model to be defeated. Aragorn and the WK are not as dangerous in comparison but due to their lower cost and the way they integrate into their armies can often be more effective and “scary” on the table. I have actually never played against Sauron so I can’t speak from experience there, but it seems he would be the hardest to take out if really required. But if someone was playing him and the scenario didn’t require me to kill him then I wouldn’t let it distract me too much. I’m curious why you didn't include a Dragon. A Dragon with the right combo of upgrades in the hands of a good player is REALLY a tough cookie to face. |

Doesn't it depend what scenario you're playing? |

Sauron by a country mile if you dont have your own spellcasters. I once played a game 1000pts per side and we couldnt kill sauron. the other 500 went down for little to no loss so it was like 800pts V sauron and we couldnt hurt him. In the end we had to call time on the game. Even treebeard couldnt hurt him. |

Argh I forgot about the dragon. Im actually surprised that Sauron was getting more votes,I would think the Balrog or the Witch-King would get more votes. But then I haven't played against Sauron much so my oppnion Isn't much. |
