Hi all, this is the list I'm using for the local campaign I've been co-hosting! The campaign is all about, good vs evil, clashing in To the Death! and sige scenarios! I've been having trouble killing Nazguls and sometimes cavalry. Also, any help into expanding this list to a 1000pts siege army (both as attacker & defender) would be greatly appreciated! We usually play a "Siege of Minas Tirith" variant with the attacker fielding 1000pts and the defender 750pts So here it is Legolas, armour 12 Wood elf Warriors, bows, spears Thranduil 3 Galadhrim Warriors, shields, spears 1 GW, elven blade 1 WEW, elven blade 3 GW, bows (not enough wood elves with bows ) Rumil, elven cloak, LEADER 2 WEW, elven blades 4 WEW, spears 6 GW, shields, spears Galadhrim Stormcaller 2 WEW, elven blades 6 GW, shields, spears 2 WE, spears Meriadoc Brandybuck Peregrin Took Thx in advance! |

Drop the hobbits. Then I would personally take all galadhrim over wood elves. Wood elves are super squishy against anything str 4 and above. Need banners in there aswell, at least 2 imho. Heroes are good though, I would make sure they have elf cloaks to give them a little bit more protection from nazgul. In a siege, I would drop the stormcaller for haldir but in general games the extra NW can be handy. Finally, all the warbands other than legolas's seem a bit random, maybe tidy them up a bit. |

I agree, you should tidy your warbands and drop some of the blades. Elven Cloaks are very useful against Nasgul but I'd only give them to heroes who will stay out of combat like Legolas and Thranduil. What is your main cavalry opponent? Is there a chance you can post a game or two in the forums so we can appreciate it? |

S4 needs a 4 against both D3 and D4, so it's actually unshielded Galadhrim that are a problem, since you've spent more to no effect. Plus, WE can take spears to shield with, and throwing daggers. I prefer a front line of shielded Galadhrim, backed by WE with bows, and spears plus throwing daggers. Sprinkle in a few Guards and some blades for troll chopping. Agree about the hobbits and heroes though... |

Thx for the input guys! Hmmm, i placed hobbits to gain an advantage in deployment and so far it has worked. I've also seen similar lists with, Lobelia-Fredgar(models i don't own), i don't know i thought it was good? Constantine, yeap it's the same campaign, we might actually play a siege in FS Glyfada this saturday, you're more than welcome to come and hangout! Also can you plz explain the concept of "tidying up a warband", i'm afraid i don't understand the concept(with an example mbe?) :/ Rumil is 2w and kinda low def, so he's a big transfix target, hence the cloak. I'm considering for a new leader, Legolas mbe since he'll always be at the back? Any hidden aces for elves taking castles in sieges? Thank you for your time! |

Armour your ladder carriers etc. as much as you can. If they are killed, you hve to leave more men vulnerable to pick up the ladder. Keep main heroes equipped with elven cloaks (the enemy will target them). These have become even more useful, as the volley fire rule has been scrapped for the hobbit, so the archer himself has to see the target, not just one model. |
