You could drop the banner in Amdur's warband as Easterlings treat him as a banner. Suggest you put some strength 4 or higher as an allied warband as Shieldmaiden sais.

Hi there, it's been a while since I've posted on here, but as you are all my number one resource for Gaming I humbly ask your guidance once more. Hopefully (If my budget allows - by that I mean partner) I will be heading to Throne of Skulls in February for the LOTR 2-day event. 1000pts is required, and I have a few potential lists that I have been toying with. I'm going to have a few games with them over the next few weeks to try and tweak them, but I was hoping some of you could help me out with advice on how to improve them. I have 4 lists so far. A Dwarf list, a Moria list, an Isengard list and an Easterling list. Dwarves: Total 998pts Warband 1: Total - 290 Dain Ironfoot 1x Horn 1x Banner 3x Warrior + Shield 7x Khazad Guard Warband 2: Total - 265 Balin 12x Iron Guard Warband 3: Total - 233 King's Champion 10x Warrior + Shield Warband 4: Total - 210 Shieldbearer Dwarf Ballista 10x Warrior + Bow Points to note - I really wanted to take Gandalf in there just so I have some magical support, and in the past he has been really effective against big hitters such as Sauron, but I can't figure what to remove to fit him in. Also I wouldn’t mind putting Floi in as his ability to negate others special abilities is pretty cool, and I believe he gets back a point of Will when a multi-wound models is killed. Isengard: Total - 1001pts Warband 1: Total - 314 Saruman Uruk Hai Warrior + Banner 11x Warrior + Shield Warband 2: Total - 192 Vrasku 12x Warrior + Crossbow Warband 3: Total - 180 Mauhur 12x Scouts + Shield + Marauder Upgrade Warband 4: Total - 290 Shaman + Armour Troll 6x Berserkers 4x Warrior + Shield Grima Wormtongue - 25 Moria: Total - 1001pts Warband 1: Total - 115 Groblog 12x Goblins + Shield Warband 2: Total - 105 Shaman 12x Goblins + Spear Warband 3: Total - 250 Watcher in the Water Warband 4: Total - 331 Shaman Dweller in the Dark Troll + Spear 6x Goblins + Shield Goblin Drum Warband 5: Total - 200 Gulavhar Points to note - I have used Groblog before, and his ability to drop the Fury save to 5+ is invaluable. I once tied up a flank of Army of the Dead worth 600pts with just 200pts of Goblins because they simply wouldn’t die. I have never fielded Gulavhar before, and I don’t yet have the model, but I do love the model and would love to paint him up. Easterlings: Total - 919 Warband 1: Total - 224 Amdur (mounted) 6x Kataphracts (+1x banner) Warband 2: Total - 244 Khamul 7x Easterlings + Shield 4x Easterlings + Shield + Pike 1x Easterling + Banner Warband 3: Total - 156 War Priest 8x Easterlings + Bow 4x Easterlings + Shield Independents: 1x Dragon Knight (foot) - 70 1x Dragon Knight (Mounted) - 85 Allies Troll Chieftain Points to note - I have chosen the troll chieftain as it gives me yet more Might to play with. The dragon knights and the War Priest make a potent combination with his blade wrath spell. I'm a bit short points wise on this list, but I'm having a complete brain blank as to what to add. First off, I'd say that if you were going to the GT with the hopes of being competitive, you really need to take a Wizard - and you also should take Floi with your Dwarves. I can't really advise about your Goblins/Isengard, but with the Easterlings I'd drop Khamul and the Dragon Knight and instead take another War Priest - and I'd team them up with Mordor, specifically the Undying. A list I find works well is as follows: Warband 1 12/12 The Undying with Horse; 6 Morannon Orc with Shield; Spear; 6 Black Númenórean ---- Warband 2 12/12 Kardûsh the Firecaller 6 Morannon Orc with Shield; Spear; 6 Morannon Orc with Spear; ---- Warband 1 12/12 Amdûr, Lord of Blades 6 Black Dragon Warrior with Shield; Pike; 6 Black Dragon Warrior with Shield; ---- Warband 2 12/12 Easterling War Priest 6 Black Dragon Warrior with Shield; Pike; 6 Black Dragon Warrior with Shield; ---- Warband 3 8/12 Easterling Captain with armoured horse; 8 Black Dragon Kataphrakt ---- 61 Units, 1000pts exactly. You have numbers but also F4 Black Dragons/Black Numenoreans, S4 Morannon Orcs, and the terror of the Undying/Numenoreans. You have a powerhouse spellcaster that can be fuelled by Khardush/War Priest spells, you have Kardush able to recharge by sacrificing orcs, and you have Amdur and some cavalry for punch. I might take Knights of Umbar of Kataphrakts, but this is slightly cheaper money wise. |

My Gondor 1000pts war 1: Boromir - captain of white tower 07 osgiliath vets 04 fountain guard 01 womt with banner war 2: Faramir 12 rangers war 3: Cirion 10 womt with banner 02 fountain guard war 4: Knight of the white tower 12 womt with banner war 5: captain 05 komt 15M, 50 models, 999pts Alot of the womt have spears and shields btw. Mordor war 1: Witch king troll drummer 02 mordor uruks 09 morannon orcs with banner war 2: captain 05 trakers 05 orcs 01 great beast of gorgoroth war 3: black guard captain 04 black guard 08 orcs with banner war 4: Gorbag 09 orcs with banner 02 stalkers 01 mordor uruk 10M, 47 models 1000pts Spears all over the place but didnt write up the wargear |

Floi is a badass wizard if played right. He costs only 70-80 points and you can negate one enemy ability of your choice per turn. Choosing the right ability will be crucial for the fight. Also having and army of dwarves is pretty thick. They die very hard but they lack movement. So care not to be kited to death. Also floi can have more will that his starting pool if you kill a lot of multiwould enemies. Against large armies like that, almost every warband will have at least one multiwound mini so you will be very hard to stop if you protect your wizard properly. You might want to put some dwarf rangers instead of warriors to the ballista warband. They have better shoot values, str3 bows and this will give you a pretty strong ranged force.Killing as much of the enemy as possible before getting to melee combat will give you the upper hand since your dwarves are one of the best armies when it comes to melee fights(great fight values, strength and defence stats). Do you know the map where you gonna play? If it has nice narrow passages then maybe 1-2 vault warden teams might be what you need to secure this fight. |

Floi cannot go above 3 will, 99% sure it says that in his profile. Also dwarf rangers have str 2 bows with a 24" range rather than the warriors who have shortbows with 18" range and str 3. The scenarios are randomly generated before each game by the TO |

He is great but be careful in case the enemy has a Nazgul, Drain Will would render Floi useless. I'd also reconsider taking a Dwarf Ballista. Maybe add another banner and some more units. |

Thanks everyone! One of the things I was considering was taking the ballista and shieldbearer, and possibly Dain so that I could add in Gandalf and Floi. But I don't think Gandalf can lead a Warband of Dwarves under the new rules? Would I be stupid getting rid of Dain? Plus, I am so excited for the Hobbit next month, hopefully we should see a lot of new Dwarves, and hopefully new poses. |

If I may offer a suggestion, I would replace dain with durin. If you have looked at his profile, he is a beast. he is well worth his pts imo. I would try and put durin and floi into your dwarf list. |
