Hey everybody, this is my first real post in the forums. So hi. Now on to the good part. I am trying to write a competitive Rohan list, but I have no experience with Rohan what so ever. So if I could have some advice on my first list, that would be superb. By the way, I am using the Rohan house rules written by Zogash. Anyways, on to the list!

Warband 1:
Eomer, Heir of Theodan w/ armoured horse and a lance
5 RoR w/ lances
4 RRG upgraded to guards of the first eored w/ armoured horses and lances
1 RRG upgraded to guard of the first eored w/ War horn

Warband 2:
Gamling the old
5 Helmingas w/ shield
5 Helmingas w/ shield and spear

Warband 3:
Erkenbrand, lord of the westfold
3 Helmingas w/ shield
8 Warriors of Rohan w/ bow

Total: 598pts (if my math is correct)

I suggest using rules that are legal, cause I have no idea what Zogash's house rules are.

If you play with legal rules then I would do the following modifications:

you could replace the 2nd warband with grimbold and have all melee units as grimbold's helmingas. That way you woud have a more brute force(from the str4 warriors) when it comes to melee fights.
Also if I were you, I would either drop all the RoR and make them all RRGs or have them all RoR for greater numbers. That way you can either have a larger cavalry force or a more elite one that wont stop at anything thanks to the bodyguard rule(assuming you pass the tests with eomer)

I dont know if these could make you a better force. After all it all comes to the dice rolls. But for me these changes would make a better force for me.

Yeah the Zogash rules are cool but i think they are a bit overpowered and too ruley for heroes. I suggest a normal, legal force as people dont take to kindly for invented rules. Especially GW.
