i just thought of this and wonder what spirits have that a man doesn't and a elf ect

They can be targeted by the "banishment" spell.

They have pretty good defense, but I think what really separates them is that they wound on Strength Vs. Courage.

I know their "stand fast" for the king also only effects the riders and warriors of the dead also, although I am not entirely sure if the spirit banners effect normal soldiers.

ya but also the balrog, wraiths and some other spirits don't have that wound on courage thing and is banish is on both or just war i?

A charcater's 'race' ie Spirit/Man/Orc/Elf/Dwarf etc doesn't have a specific advantage. There are certain rules that one species might all have but they are not directly related to the rules. A model being a spirit doesn't mean it automatically gains certain advantages or disadvanteges.
