Ey guys,

I really really really like the grimhammer dwarf models. I think their armor is the coolest and best looking of every model I have seen so far, it's so heavy and it has a real dwarfish look. It's so much better then the armor on the normal dwarf warriors wich doesn't look heavy at all. Therefore I think the grimhammer dwarves should have a basic defence of 7 instead of 6. It just doesn't feel right if you compare the 1/2 cloak 1/2 plate armor of normal dwarves to this amazing grimhammer armor. If the normal dwarves already have 6 defence grimhammer dwarves should definitly have 7 defence value. Whay you guys think?

For the people who still haven't seen the grimhammers here is your link:

I think they're pretty hard as it is. If they were defence 7, it'd make them too damn hard for their points.

I see where you're coming from and agree on a WYSIWYG and logical standpoint, but in game terms I think that their defence is fine as it is. Dwarf armies are frustratingly hard to wound as it is.

The reasoning will probably be something like - defence values incorporate a myriad of things, not just how resilient a person and their armour are, but also their ability to avoid the incoming blows: therefore, the Grimhammers are less able to avoid a blow, but can absorb the impact better, whereas "normal" warriors can avoid a few more blows (or lessen the impacts), but not take the hits so well.

Use them as Khazad guard. I dont think anybody would mind. But just upping their defence for no points... well... If your opponents are ok with house rules you could ask for a +1 pt for the +1 defence... all of them but the uruk player should be ok with it.

Yeah maybe it's better to make them 1 point more if they have defence 7. But then again most of the evil armies have monsters wich ignore defence with the new rend rule.

I personally dont see why anyone would use grimhammers over Khazad Guard unless it was asthetics. The khazad guard are the same points and better in almost every department.
