Hello everyone, SouthernDunedain here. It has occurred to me that a lot more people are trying to get rules/ stats etc from the various rulebooks. Now as you may or may not know, asking for the rules on the forum is against the rules. “its expensive” “I only want the profile for _____” I hear you cry. Doesn’t matter, what you are asking is to post is copyrighted material and something like that could get the site into trouble with the big wigs. And to everyone (like me) who has shelled out the money to buy the rulebook, it is a bit of kick in teeth. Yes it may be expensive but that is the price we all have to pay if we want to use the new models. I’ve seen rumours of boycotting the system to make GW lower the prices. This wont happen, they’ll see it isn’t making money and drop the system and we’ll be left without these glorious models we have come to love and instead be stuck with third party imitations. Now, there is a solution to this problem. Sidthesloth has been referring lots of you to lonely knights army builder. To save him keep reposting the same stuff, I have pasted all relevant info below. Edit: If you want the link, google it or send a PM. 1. select the units you want 2. scroll to the end 2 pages of the document (called evil and good army lists) 3. scroll down 4 then you should see the special rules and stuff If you follow these instructions, you will be able to have all the values, spec rules you want without endangering the site and annoying people. Alternatively, you could just save up and buy the books, they are nice to look at and you can have a hard copy to reference during the game. If you want to buy it cheaper, check out our friendly greendragon at http://www.greendragongames.co.uk He does 10-25% off the LotR range and having used him personally, I would definitely recommend him. |

Amen to this! Or chip in with some mates for the books to make it cheaper. Or play with the old rules/sourcebooks you say you have instead of asking for specifics from the new rules/sourcebooks. If you have a local library you can often ask very politely and give specifics for them to get in new books. Or be less subtle near your birthday =) |

Also, I'd trade my old one ring rule book - I have the new one and no longer need it... ...just look for my trade post |

I am no expert, but isn't the army builder also kind of illegal? |

Good thinking Mr Dunedain. I used LK until my rulebook came to me at Xmas. However, i do not think it wise advising people to download army builder rather than buying the rulebooks. That was one thing about Sid's constant links that troubled me. Could LonelyKnight or One Ring get into trouble. Unless LK is paying GW? |

The Horde Lord wrote: I am no expert, but isn't the army builder also kind of illegal? Yep, I imagine so. Which means I'm iffy about this thread and am going to lock it so it can't be bumped. If you want to help new people with this (and I imagine there will be a constant stream over the next few years) you'll have to do it with a PM. |
