Giving a try to make a mix army bettewn thror´s army and Durin´s folk.

1000pts

Definitely more iron guard in all of these lists. Iron Guard are ridiculously good especially with their build in throwing weapons. For your second list in particular, I would recommend throwing in 4 iron guard with the grim hammers with dwalin, then 4 more for the khazad guard warband (you would need to take out two of those units then). then for the remaining points just take a really well rounded inexpensive hero like balin, or use a dwarf ballista or two. They're meteocre but they prevent your enemies from forming phalanxes which can be really deadly for dwarves

I like the army lists, and I disagree on the need to take Iron guard, with the update that makes it harder to hit with range weapons while on the move their throwing weapons are more of an annoyance than a threat, and at a lower defense of 6 they die much more easily than their Khazad brethren. And while I do like the occasional use of a Dwarf Ballista, unless you're fighting monsters I just think they are too limited in uses. The only potential change I would make would be adding some Dwarf Rangers (potentially) with DLB's. The good range and shooting skill is a nice cover for the slower movement speed of the Dwarves, and you can potentially counter enemy archer fire which is the biggest threat to all non-vault warden dwarves

i would consider rangers as well. 4 bows in a 1000 point army feels low to me.

2 strength 4 attacks makes a huge difference in any situation. If you have lots of them, the throwing weapons will end up getting kills even with the new impairments to throwing weapons. and D6 v D7 is kind of relative to whether you're playing against someone with most the units of strength 4 or strength 3...if you're playing Urukai then yeah, khazad might work better but against S3 units they get the job done mainly with their two attacks. Paired with khazad guard they work pretty well also.
