First off, your last warband has got to be 9 with spears, and 2 without, you are 4 points over and those 2 spears taken away bring it to 500.

Looks fun, although i'd probably opt to swap one of the woses warbands for some more 'tanky' infantry for the woses to hide behind.

Woses and Cavalry do not work. Trust me, myself and muppetslayer took woses + gondor knights to the doubles last year and the combo failed. the cavalry are too easily drawn away and woses cannot hold their own forever. Not to mention if you want the woses to shoot, they have to stand still whereas you want your cavalry to always be moving. If you really want to do a wose army, take foot infantry (either gondor, arnor, dwarves) that can take enemy bow fire. or take treebeard...he usually wipes out half a 500pt list anyway haha. you're not likely to come up against many things in 500pts who can take him out.

A warband of woses led by Ghan with an eagle is a pretty effective counter to a competetive army, the eagle can take out any enemy shades, and the woses have a decent chance at wounding morannons. However i would never consider them a core unit in any army.

With the new spear rules, they're even better support now for Rohan: with the wounding orc rule and Grimbold, D6 evil has trouble. I just don't like the cheese. Wouldn't like having to use Bandobras either (it makes no thematic sense), but there aren't many other options. Too bad there's not a Wose captain profile.

I agree about the captain and agree about Bandobras, but, as you say, there are no other thematic options or anyone else for those points in the Wanderers in the wild.

Currently rewriting a list with Rohan infantry...

Ok, written the list, but I'm not so sure about it without Erkenbrand and his horn of Elvenly Courage.

I'd cut the second warband of Woses, and replace it with some cavalry (looking at the second list). Bandobras Took is an unusual choice to lead them, and seeing as he rides a horse himself, he'd just end up dying probably in most battles.

I just meant that it's thematically dubious, but it still looks good on the board :)

For your latest army, unless you already have the Wose models, I think you'd be better off with 1 warband of Woses, at least a full warband of Helmingas w/ shields + throwing spears, and flesh out the rest with cavalry and maybe more infantry. If you already have 2 warbands of Wose models it's tempting to use them, but not sure I have any opinion on it.

Seems like a more rounded force, and more even now that there aren't two full warbands of Woses. Are your Outriders mounted or on foot? If on foot, you may want to replace one warband with some cavalry. It's one of the main strengths of a Rohan army, so you may as well utilise it.

I might do that, but THEN EACH SECTION WOULD BE ISOLATED PROBABLY, AND i'D END UP WITH A VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF CAVALRY AGAINST A WHOLE 500PTS ARMY IF I CHARGED.

Well, for this to be the case you'd be charging your cavalry in first while the rest of your army tries to catch up, which is a tactic that would get you killed no what.

Use the cavalry model's extra move to flank the enemy once lines meet/capture objectives.

Yet again, i really think you'd only need one warband of woses.
