Ok here is my list as it is now, the desired theme of the list is the sort of force that Arvedui would've gathered for his final stand at Fornost/Arnor (I know little about the lore of old Arnor). The current list features the king himself, his trusty bff Malbeth, and some allies from the Blue Mountains

Arvedui
8 Warriors of Arnor
4 Rangers with spear

Malbeth
8 Warriors of Arnor
4 Rangers with spear

Dwarf Kings Champion + heralds
8 Khazad Guard
2 Iron Guard

As it stand the list is 593 points with 36 models, and I am really not sure what to throw in to boost it up to 750, I know something from Rivendell seems logical, or maybe just the elf twins, but i canny decide. Whatever it is i'd like for it to have 3 might, or some sort of special rule that will either #buffthetroops, or make it a killing machine. Would Gildor/Radagast have fought alongside Arvedui? Anyway guys, tell me what you think, I want this bad boy to clear up!

P.S: This is for a tournament where each game a generic hero in your army gets a special rule, that is another reason why the kings champion is in there - he is the best generic hero in the game.

I would go with more troops, is arathorn out of the list for a lore perspective ? Because you could include another warband led by him.

I was thinking about Rumil maybe leading some wood elves, I know Cirdan sent somebody to go assist in the defence of Fornost, I know Rumil isn't his man to command but an elf is an elf right?

Bilbo, the dwarf kings champion brings 2 banners into the frey, I think my chaps will be good in that regard :p

Rumil does sound like a 3 Might hero with some special rule that makes him a killing machine :)

Hobbits were at the Battle of Fornost. Consider:

Arvendui, Malbeth and Arathorn each leading a warband of
8 WoArnor
4 Rangers w. Spear

Plus the Great Great Great Grandfathers of Merry, Pippen and Paladin
8 Battlin Brandybucks with Axes
4 Hobbit Archers
(one of the three warbands will have to have 4 Milia instead to even points)

78 units, 25 top bows, sufficient Might, a Fight 4 horde with axes for strength.

Haha wow, great suggestion Fistrakuhm. While I would LOVE to use 36 hobbits, that would jsut cost too much for me :p

I have settled for this:

Malbeth
8 warriors of Arnor
4 rangers of Arnor with spear

Arvdui
8 warriors of Arnor
4 rangers of Arnor with spear

Elladan and Elrohir
5 High Elf warriors with shields

Floi
10 Khazad Guard
2 Iron Guard

Decent numbers, decent might (11), free 5+ save for my battle line, and Floi to nullify shades, staffs of power.

Personally I would be tempted to use a pure Arnor army with no Dwarf allies, but High Elves and hobbit archers with no bow limit to be canonical.

Do you not want some form of cavalry? I would have questioned Floi but on second thoughts he looks great anyway on paper.

I just looked at the first post, just wondering if you forgot about the generic hero boost for the tournament you mentioned.

Having said that, are Rivendell knights a viable option instead of the twins?

@Haldir Not really, 22 points for a 1 attack model is too much, the twins on the other hand are cheap as chips and have always tanked everything whenever. Also the generic hero boost is not SUPER GREAT but it basically makes generic heroes as effective as named heroes, i.e a 70point galadhrim captain will become as effective as Rumil/Haldir etc, so I won't be screwed if I don't take an un-named hero - but I reckon the ability to change between special rules at a moments notice will be pretty sweet :p

Here is the final incarnation:

Malbeth
12 warriors of arnor

The elf twins
4 warriors of arnor
5 rangers of arnor with spear

Dwarf Captain with shield
10 khazad guard
2 iron guard

Gildor
2 high elf warriors with spear and shield
5 high elf warriors with shield

45 models ain't half bad

No king Arvedui because zero fate is a joke and 70pts is too much for the little he does :/

About the knights, ya I guess so bit I'm still on the fence about them. I think that they can be pretty useful, they may not earn their points back, but they are amazingly versatile in my opinion.

The revised list looks good, but you don't have any bows and little ranged ability. But that shouldn't be a problem considering the way it was built and the deployment nowadays.

He does have 5 rangers, they all have bows in the base profile

Hi suicidalmarsbar your list certainly does look solid and also caught my attention seeing that I love playing the arnor fraction ,just a couple of quick questions though if you don't mind
1 if you didn't included the final war band (elves ) what else would you go for?. The only reason I ask is that I'd like to play a similar list but don't have any elves.( got plenty of everything else though)
2 tactical how would you play your army , would you combined the different war bands ?. I know this is a difficult question has it all depends on the scenario etc etc but I mean general
Thanks 8)

Just played the army literally about half an hour ago against some harad scum, it was the high ground and I won 34-3, it was great. DocDeath I will try to address your points:

1. Well if elves are really a no no I would probably go for more khazad guard+floi, something that maintains the fight 4 minimum, and preferably also something with a degree of magic, to help nuetralize enemy heroes/monsters. That said my final warband was essential, and I wouldn't swap it for anything; the fight 5 the elves brought to the warrior on warrior fights was essential in holding off people like the golden king and taskmasters who have fight 4. Gildor was also a total beast who got the enem leader killed in the first turn via immobilisation. His combination of magic, terror, and capable combat prowess make him a really versatile hero.

2. In general the list works because, once I have combined Malbeths warband with the dwarves, I have a really solid battle line, with two 'support' warbands who can bring higher fight, harass with bowfire, and send two total beasts (the twins) into the enemy flank. Because Gildor is flimsy in combat I focus on trying to make the most of his transfixing early. Keeping Malbeth safe is also a huge priority, obviously, but doing so is really easy thanks to him giving all of your defence 6/7 models a 33% chance of shrugging off wounds.

A bit late to the party, but is your list legal? The Twins can lead GC, but not Arnor, IIRC.

Twins are in the arnor section whafrog, meaning they can lead warriors and rangers of arnor. Same as dol amroth captains who can lead AotD.
