Warband 1
Dwalin OR Thorin w/ Oakenshield
11 Erebor Dwarves (5 w/ shield, 6 w/ spear)

Warband 2
Erebor Captain w/ Shield
11 Erebor Dwarves (5 w/ shield, 6 w/ spear)

Warband 3
Erebor Captain w/ Shield
11 Erebor Dwarves (5 w/ shield, 6 w/ spear)

Warband 4
Dwarf Captain w/ shield
10 Iron Guard

Total 737 OR 747 w/ thorin
Models: 48
Might: 8 / 9

So above is probably my first themed list ever xD and probably my favourite. All my erebor dwarves are converted out of grimhammers, one captain is converted from a grimhammer captain and I plan to convert one more out of either young dwalin, balin or a grimhammer.
So yeah, C&C on the above list. Main points are, thorin or dwalin? and if I take dwalin, give shields to the spears? Might slow down those pesky crossbows and ferals which always seem to turn up.

Can a shieldbearer protect a dwarf from erebor? If so I'd say take that bad boy and Thorin. If not take Thorin anyway, although I would personally take both because they are hench.

If you're sure to face Uruks Thorin is nice, I'm partial to Dwalin cuz of his strength and the +1 for a 2h hammer without the drawbacks.
I'd also say the shields are a must as you have no bows to use against the cross-bows. Also idk if its a typo but in warband 3 you have two Dwarves with no extra equipment, and you have the points still to outfit them regardless of which lead hero you take.

My advice would be to drop 4 Iron Guard (at least) and take Dwalin over Thorin so you could attatch 6 Dwarf Rangers with bows to counter enemy archer fire. Also the extra points could allow you to squeeze another Erebor Dwarf into one of your other warbands (with Equipment).

Thing is, 48 dwarves is a pretty good number for 750pts, so I'd be inclined to make no big changes. That said, if you drop 1 captain to Balin, and one to the shieldbearer - you could get Orcrist for Thorin and whack another dwarf in/shields on some men.

Shieldbearer would also be a good anti-Dr.Grant measure just because he'd always be there to atleast try and take the heat off Thorin with a heroic combat, so if some lame wizard (lol cos I never use magic...) tries to compel him, shieldman is there to save that day. This works even better if you give him the strength 5 carnival trait (assuming this list is for the longbottom carnival)
