Hello everyone, how would this army work? 12 warg riders (4 with bow, 4 with shield, 4 with throwing spears) 160 points 1 mordor troll 100 points 1 uruk hai warrior with banner 39 points 1 nazgul on horse 2/12/0 100 points 10 uruk hai warriors with shields 100 points Total: 499 points I reaaly want the mobility of the wargs, and the arrow magnet/heavy hitting of the troll, in order to divert attention from my other troops. I am less sure of the nazgul. I could switch him for lurtz or an uruk captain with heavy armour and a shield and buy 4 more uruk hai. I would rather keep it a small force with good stats than cram as many models as possible in. Any criticism or ideas? |

The least is illegal under warband rules, you need one hero for every 12 warriors and the Nazgul can't leave Uruk-Hai. You've got some great mid ranged heroes (points wise) so you can bring plenty of might to the table. Drop the bows and throwing spears on the wargs as well, you're hitting on 6's if you move. If you drop 3 or 4 wargs and the Nazgul then you can afford to get Sharku and somone like Mahur or Vrasku |

Warband rules? Sorry, I'm not familiar with these. I only have the old lotr sbg rule book. As such I am also unfamiliar with the mahur and vrasku characters. Is it possible to create a good army on the original figure list, or have the new additions nerfed them? How about this then? 15 uruk hai with shields 150 points 1 uruk hai warrior with banner 39 points 1 mordor troll 100 points Lurtz 60 points Sharku on warg with shield 60 points 7 warg riders with shields 91 Total: 500 points |

I think the second is legal with the old rules. The first isn't legal with the old rules because you need a hero from the faction you're army is made of to lead the army, and a wraith doesn't count (though you can ally one in). The game has improved immensely with the war band rules. You can get them if you pick up the newer Fallen Realms sourcebook, which has Isengard in it. The new war band rules are in the first few pages. You'll need/want a few more heroes though. You might also consider the new Hobbit rulebook (though I'd wait a couple months to see if they release an update for the next movie). There are some good changes/additions that you will appreciate if you are fielding monsters (like that troll). |

With the second list you would have to field an Isengard troll not a Mordor troll. A Mordor troll counts as a Mordor troop and can only be lead by a Mordor Hero. |
