Warband 1
The Betrayer on Fell Beast
12 Watchers of Karna with bows

Warband 2
Taskmaster
12 Watchers of Karna with bows

Warband 3
The Golden King of Harad
6 Abrakhan Guard
6 Serpent Guard

Warband 4
Suladan on horse
6 Abrakhan Guard
6 Serpent Guard

Warband 5
The Undying

Just thought I'd gather some thoughts and opinions on this army. High attack output, accurate archery, plenty of rerolls of one's and two's to wound, a fell beast rerolling failed wounds with another wraith to support via spells, Golden King to do what he does best, mass F4, taskmaster to save my might.

The biggest downside is that all my warriors are D4... eep :o this is an army that'll need to be played fast and aggressively. When the fight goes my way I'm guaranteed a kill. When I lose the fight I'm guaranteed a death. The other downer is a low store of might, but hopefully the taskmaster will help out with that.

So, any thoughts/comments?

Knighty - check out our blog - Louis has a similar army he has used a few times... They are very good :-)

Looks like a beast of an army! Seriously expensive unless you are converting and even moulding your own miniatures?

Personally I would happily field a Rohan or Gondor army against it (and expect to loose!) which would make for a seriously challenging game!

Haha, it's from talks with Louis that kind of pushed me towards this army Leo, although I shan't be adding a shade in.... ;) I think that's a bit *too* mean.

@Bilbo: I already own the army, having been buying it in pieces over the past two weeks. Just waiting for the Golden King and 12 Watchers to arrive, which (touch wood) should be here on Monday! :)

Another version of this substitutes the Abrakhan Guard with Venomblade Knights (and I'd also have to find a replacement for one warband of Watchers, or take their bows away as I'd no longer have the benefit of the Scorpion's Sting). This allows me to change aggressive and defensive strategies depending on what I'm in the mood for.

Gondor would be a good army to face, especially one with Fountain Court and Rangers/Citadel Guard. The high defence and good arrow output would definitely present a challenge.

The other trouble I have is too many warriors wanting/needing to benefit from the Betrayer's Master of Poisons - perfect positioning and deployment will be key.

Either way, I get to play test it next week :) very much looking forward to it, and hopefully I'll return with a battle report!

Where are you trying it out? At East Grinstead?

Not really sure what the Undying on foot is going to do and I think the KoU is better than the betrayer.

I would swap the Undying for a chieftan and a unit of plebians. Up your model count

I don't get the serpent guard, you're paying a lot over a regular haradrim for a reroll one to wound. The undying on foot seems lonely and won't affect the battle enough you should give him a horse. Lastly why don't you take advantage of the Harad and take 50% of watcher as they are amazing ?

I initially had him on horseback, but with not enough points to mount both Suladan and the Undying I went for the former. The Betrayer isn't the best at casting and will be flinging himself into combats to take advantage of Bane of Kings, so I wanted another wraith in there to support and transfix. My choices came down to either the Undying or the Shadowlord.

I would lose 1 man from each warband and give the Undying 10 orcs (I reckon you get 10 might be more....) Just incase of hold ground

F4. This means Abrakhan Guard can Feint without losing their presious F4.
And the Betrayer can make it one and two's.

That was a complete fail post on my part. I'm sorry. I agree with you.
