Well, looks like this will be my first post at the One Ring! :D
Over the years, I've tried mainly pure wood elf armies and I am far from disappointed. I've also tried Galadhrim a few times. They both got their pros and cons, of course. In a couple of weeks there will be a local tourney and I am thinking of building a 50/50 mix, something like this:

Warband 1
Thranduil (Leader)
12 Wood Elves with spears

Warband 2
Rumil
2 Galadhrim with shields and spears
2 Galadhrim with shields
8 Guards of the Galadhrim Court

Warband 3 :legolas:
Legolas
6 Galadhrim with bows
6 Wood Elves with bows and spears

Points: 600
Bows: 12 (+Legolas and Thranduil)
Might: 9
Models: 39 (break at 20)

Number-wise is best you can get at 600 with elves. Bows maxed, pike support (is it even worth it nowadays?), a little bit of magic from our king. Generally, main dissadvantages are lack of mobility (no cavalry) and no real magic (I dont think you can field a wizard at this point level with the sole exception of stormcallers which are totally substituted by Thranduil).Otherwise balanced list, wood elven low armour went a bit up by mixing some Galadhrim in there, without losing in numbers. What do you think guys? Criticism is most welcome!
Cheers!

Welcome to the joy of mixed WE and Galadhrim :) Looks pretty good to me, though I like giving throwing daggers to all my WE/spears.

Couple of comments:
I do like pikes, there's something about elves rolling 3 dice that is just fantastic. The Guards tie a cave troll, or beat almost every evil hero, and now that spear/pike support uses the Fight of the support, it's that much more effective.

I wouldn't underestimate a stormcaller, he can usually pull off an extra nature's wrath, plus that Wild Magic rule is very handy. Thranduil is great, but if you wanted to save points at least the option is there: you could take a stormcaller + sentinel and still be ahead.

I must say as an evil player, I wouldn't like to take that on, unless I was using isengard.
Great numbers for 600pts

Welcome to the one ring :)

First of all thanks for the comments :D
As for Thranduil, I really like him. He is as potent as any elf hero in close combat + his terror aura and nature's wrath can really make a difference. Swapping him for a Stormcaller can save me some points, but I lose 2 might and a good leader. I can indeed add a Sentinel, but are they really good? I can see their use vs a Troll or a Shade, but are they otherwise useful?

Welcome to the One Ring! And that does look like a good list. I'd love to try my Goblins against it just for the fun of it. Were you playing a GW scenario? Or my personal favorite "Just kill everything over there!" ?

At our local tourney we played random scenarios: domination, hold ground and to the death. I played to the death vs Isengard and lost pretty hard, close defeat at hold ground vs Mordor and close victory vs another Mordor at domination.

Quick question on thranduil while I have you all here. You can't channel his crown spells can you?

Thranduil can indeed channel his spells. I only really tend to channel aura of dismay for a mega terror bubble.
