Hello everyone Here's an army list put together for Thranduil's Halls: Thranduil 12x Mirkwood Guard with Pike, Elven Blade and Shield Legolas 12x Mirkwood Rangers (all male warband) Tauriel 12x Mirkwood Rangers (all female warband) So far I have purchased Legolas, Tauriel and 2 boxes of Palace Guard. I still have to get Thranduil and 3 boxes of Mirkwood Rangers. Points wise I'm not worried. How effective is this army? I like to keep the theme and don't like mixing and matching or allying. Thanks |

Thats as about as effective as the list can be i think without allying something in. If you could budge slightly with the allying in element something like galadhrim knights for speed or rivendell knights for a mass impact of heavy cavalry could be a thought. Or simply throw in treebeard or gwaihir as a one man demolition team. |

I have played against a 500pt version of this list and it is very potent - although you do have to be okay with spending a few turns running away while shooting before throwing yourself into combat or you will have a hard time. Remember that the rangers come in boxes of 10, so instead of buying a third box you could spend those 56 points on Kili the dwarf. |

I find elves are very good in the combat but with there low defence they can be brought down easily with bow fire. So you might do well to put rangers behind shields or in a wood or other terrain |

If you have the Thranduil from DoS (without Bow and Armour) it would make for a very neat 800 points. 39 Models, 9 Might, 24 Shots + Legolas & Tauriel. Given the low army count but high amount of shots I am guessing it's how you use your shots more than anything. Regardless of how competitive it is I love the theme with all the females in one warband and males in another It's also very fluffy which is nice. If you paint them up Imladris96 post pictures |

Thanks for the advice. I plan on running and shooting mostly with the elite protecting and using thranduil for tougher models. I'm using all spears so I always have the opportunity for support. |
