Two waning yet strong races, Dwarves and Elves. Who is better? This includes High Elves, Wood Elves, Santa's Elves , and anything in between. Durin's Folk and Erebor Dwarves are considered one as well. |

Well Santa's Elves make it a hard decision lol. I vote Dwarves, strength 4 elites with good fight and great defense across the board makes them the best tanks in the game. Also you can watch the GBHL "Middle-Earth's Deadliest Warband" to see them knock the elves out cold |

The only reason I picked" they both rock" is that it depends on what kind of "Dwarves or Elves" you are talking about. |

They both rock, but each preform better against certain opponents. |

It's gotta be dwarves. From Moria to Erebor they're so much more interesting and mysterious. Also khazad guard rock! |

I simply like bowmen. And their heroes. So elves it is. I like dwarf elites in the game and some heroes are OK but they're short and not that fun to paint or play as with slow movement. |

I voted for both rock, I prefer the look, lore, variety, and physical superiority that dwarves have, but elves have such great heroes that change how you control the board like: Thranduil, Rumil, Celeborn, Galadriel, Stormcallers - combined with f5 base it is hard to deny the elves equality to the dwarves. |

Also you can watch the GBHL "Middle-Earth's Deadliest Warband" to see them knock the elves out cold That's mainly because whilst all the elven troops and heros are split across different lists, dwarves get it all in one list and got a lot more development after the films (Not their fault, the fall of Moria is a cool tale). Fluff wise, the elves armour should be akin to that of dwarves . Both have strengths and weaknesses, both in game and fluff. Both also have poor excuses for not aiding the rest of middle earth, the dwarven greed blinds them to the plight of others, where as the elves keep leaving to Valinor because they believe middle earth to be lost (why none of them though "Hey, if we stay here, we may actually be able to make this place better"). Both have some of the greatest halls, just look at the likes of Erebor, Moria at it;s height, and compared to the elven cities and strongholds of the previous ages Rivendell is but a health spa, yet still above the works of men not of Numenor. |

The Dwarves are split across two lists, remember. All their best elites are in one and their spearmen are in another, which could cause problems. But they synchronize better than wood elves/high elves. |

I think people over-estimate not having spears with the Dwarves. I don't own any Army of Thror figures (save the company who I don't use) and I never have trouble with them. The lack of spears is a weakness but it's hardly insurmountable And Zarantha I feel like we keep retracing old ground. The Durin's Folk list isn't "far more developed" than the Elves, they just match up well strengths against strengths and all. (Ignoring special pay to upgrade units and counting hero sets as 1 entry, such as the twins) Durin's Folk has 11 heroes and 5 troops Loth/Mirkwood which is one list has 10 heroes and 5 troops Rivendell has 11 heroes and 1 troop choice (which I keep saying they are troop deficient) |

The Wood elves have also gotten basically as much development as the army of thror from the hobbit film - two troop types and a couple of heroes. They're probably going to have a similar level of popularity as well, thanks to legolas. |

I use both equally and have a decent rate of sucess with both aswell. Elves are harder to play because usually if you lose the fight you die whereas my Erebor army is D7 across the board. Rivendell can be amazing when the right army is taken and used correctly. Lots of shields & spears back up by bows is amazing. |

Both rock. There are lots of minis for both races, with sculpts ranging from the sublime to the ho-hum and then there are a couple of stinkers but we will not mention those as they are not based on anything that actually appeared in any of the movies. The minis cover a wide range of units already and we may yet see some more from the last Hobbit movie - Dain and the Iron Hills dwarves may be a variation on the Erebor/Grimhammer types, and who knows what else may emerge (you can read the speculation in the various rumours threads and make of them what you will). And how do they fight? Well that depends... SBG or War of the Ring style? Small skirmishes, large battles or with allies? Circumstances dictate how things may develop, and the Dice Gods might be with you or against you on any given day. But for the interesting minis alone, I would have both races. |
