So, my local GW is currently running a competition of sorts on thursday, and I might attend.
The idea is to create an alternative fellowship, either good or evil (no mixing allowed!) that consists of 9 models (no less, no more). The points limit is 900. The only special rule is that one of your models must carry a ring of power, that awards no bonuses, and the chosen model must pass a courage test each turn with a -1 modifier. If the chosen model fails this courage test, it will run of the board. The game ends when one side is below 25% (aka, the loosing side).
I have thought of many lists, the latest being:
The Dark Lord Sauron (without the One Ring)
2*Castellan of Dol Guldur, both with Morgul Blade
Grishnák, with shield
Orc Captain, with shield
Ringwraith, with extra: 2/4/1 and a horse
Ringwraith, with extra 2/1/0 and the ring of power (throw channeled black dart twice, and vanish)
2*Ringwraith, with extra 2/3/1
I would like to take a fell beast, but I won't have the carrying capacity to bring any thing larger than Sauron, trolls etc..
The idea behind the list is board control, and - Turn 1) Sap will, Turn 2) Channeled Black Dart (with 4 dice) /Chill soul - if the opponent has invested in a few strong models (these will be targeted), and filled up with the likes of Damrod and Beregond etc. I believe these types of lists will be fairly common, and they will probably be filled by elven heroes and the likes of Aragorn and Boromir.
All lists are welcome, good/evil, theme or no theme, cheesy or not!
Cheers!
