So.... Contingent 1: Thranduil's Halls Warband 1: The Vanguard. -Thranduil -11 Palace Guards( 4 shields, 6 spears Warband 2: Monster Hunters - Legolas with armour and Elven Cloak -11 Palace Guards( 4shields, 6 spears Warband 3: Spider Exterminators -Tauriel -10 Mirkwood Rangers Contingent 2: Lothlorien and Mirkwood Warband: The Spellcaster's Curse -Alagos, Mirkwood Stormcaller -2 Mirkwood (wood elf) [Edit] Sentinels: Daermaethore [Dire-my-thore] and Taurvantian [Towr-van-tee-ahn] -6 Wood Elves with wood-elf spears and throwing daggers. -4 Wood Elves with elven blades and throwing daggers. -2 Wood Elves with elf bows. Contingent 3: Thorin's Company Warband: Nor brightest, really. Oin the Dwarf. Army stats: Units: 49 )Bows: 14 )Might: 11)Break Point: 25) Highest Courage: 6) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Allright, the theme of this army is based around the events of The Hobbit, that's why Oin is in the list, and because he is a healer of some kind, he is a lovely addition to my force! Then I've got three models that are able to cast free spells (well except for Thranduil with his limited amount of free spells). And two fighters, and another spell caster. Let me know what you think! Turwaitheon. |

I don't mean to sound harsh but there are a couples of issues with this list, most of all your just taking elites. Palace guard are good taken in small numbers with Thranduil where you can make full use of there F6 otherwise you're paying to much for troops that just aren't that great, your paying to much and they don't hit hard enough. Same problem with Rangers as you're limiting your numbers again, however if you drop the Palace guard the'd be fine Also not clear are you taking 3 stormcallers that's a bit much even in 1000 points especially in one warband (or is that three identical warband you squished into one section) My recommendation would be leave 3-4 place guard with Elven blades in Thraduil's warband make the rest normal wood elves (some with spears to support the guards and Thranduil) Make Legolas' warband normal elves maybe all armed with bows (as the rangers don't count towards your bow limit) so you can hang back Keep Tauriels list the same, maybe even add in 2 more rangers to get a full warband if you have the points Stormcaller list (with one stormcaller is fine) some people aren't big on throwing daggers but that more personal choice than anything (these are your close combat guys so equip them accordingly) That should free up enough point to make a small warband lead by another stormcaller (another combat warband) As for Oin he's all good Sorry for making so many sweeping changes but I play elves my self so just want you to have the most optimised list you can |

Wait, no.. sorry messed something up.. Wait for it... Cleaned the Stormcaller mistake up! And I understand the advice of putting Palace Guards and Wood elves in Thranduil's warband, but as they belong to two different armies it isn't that easy, wish it was, oh I wish it was. Plus that I'd like to play as thematic possible and I have won some games with it, even for being an elite list (the Thranduil's Halls army 700 pts part). And thank you for the comments, I'll think about the notes you made. |

Ok sentinel makes much more sense than two stormcallers, as for the Palace guard that's my fault in my group we guessed that after the last movie comes out Wood elves would get there own list so we allow Rangers and Palace guard to join warbands with other wood elves, I sometimes forget other groups don't I would still go normal elves in Legolas's warband just for numbers and diversity, I don't really rate Palace Guard when there away from Thranduil (3'' away from Thranduil with Aura of Dismay cast is a different story entirely) |

Well, I must say that in friendly games you could decide that that would be possible: and then just wood elf captains, sentinels and warriors! And I'm going to play a match with this army soon so, if it didn't work out as planned, I'm going for the Legolas with normal wood elves part! |

That the exact list we use if you add the new stuff in you end up with quite a nice little list Heroes Thranduil Legolas Tauriel Ranger Captain Wood Elf Captain Palace guard captain Troops Wood Elves Sentinels Palace Guard Mirkwood Rangers And we sure there will be one more troop type from the third film As for the list the best thing you can do with any list is play it and see if it works out for you, this game after all is about having fun |
