My question is, if you decide to bring in archers to an army (which I suppose everyone does) how do you put them in? Do you mix them with infantry or make warbands purely out of archers? Or does it depend on which faction/scenario each is playing? Thanks for your patience. |

If I bring archers to one of the GW made scenarios I mix them into Warbands with other troops. With the likelihood that your Warbands could be split up during deployment it's important to allow for flexibility |

My regular opponent and I often play To the Death and he always has elves, which are hesitant to go into combat. Therefore, I always mix large warbands of all archers, and others of all close combat troops. In a scenario like Hold Ground which I did, Id make sure to mix them a bit, but Id do like a 50% mix and put a full warband of close quarters guys elsewhere. Other than randomly deploying like that scenario, I prefer to have my archery all together. If you can give me a force and or other info, I can answer more precisely. |

Also may I ask, where does it say which percentage of an army are archers? |

It's 33% unless the source books say otherwise. so for example a army of pure Haradrim may take 50% bows but this is explicitly stated within the Harad section of their source book |

Any army? Is it in each army's sourcebook? |

Yes. I ask because some are hard to find. Generally, at the beginning of each army's section. For example with Harad, before them you have Isengard. So after Isengard, in one of the firdst pages of the Harad section, it gives you the example. As far as I know- 100%: -Mirkwood Rangers -Knights of Rivendell -Rangers of Arnor (but only if you have 1 Ranger of the North for every 4 Rangers, otherwise, the 33% remains the same) -Riders of Rohan 50%: Hunter Orcs Harad ***I thought Easterlings but I cant find it in book*** Also a note-Warg marauders always fire two bow shots, and I think thats outside the 33%. Looking through the sourcebooks, thats about all I can find. I think the rest are all 33% |

The rulebook states gives the 33% under the shooting section. Armies with special limits have it listed in their sourcebooks at the beginning of their section. Some people mix, some don't. Generally I like to keep them apart so I don't have to move them and cop the +1 to hit where possible. If they deploy close up, oh well, they are better in combat than shooting |
