Guys, trying to figure this list out... in terms of bow limit... Ok, so as I read it...If I take all troops from Arnor... I can then take Dunedain and/or Rangers of the North (both normally considered independent) and group with each 4 rangers of Arnor, and this can go beyond Bow limit... a) But what if I want to take say Halbarad and/or Arathorn and/or the twins too, can I give each of these a warband of 12 rangers, can I do this in addition to the above and still ignore bow limit for the force? b) What if I don't take the Dunedain or Rangers of the North and just go with the above named heroes with Arnor rangers, can this force go beyond bow limit? |

Grey Company rules: You have to include the Rangers in a normal warband (with a hero to lead them). But for every 4 Rangers, you must also include a Dunedain or Ranger Of The North (both independant heroes) in your force. If you decide to go with the normal rules, 1/3 of your army can still be Rangers. |

I think this example will make it clear: Arathorn 12 Rangers of Arnor Ranger of the North Ranger of the North Ranger of the North This is legal as well as Malbet 6 Warriors of Arnor 4 Ranger of Arnor Captain of Arnor 4 Ranger of Arnor Ranger of the North For each Ranger of the North/Dunedain 4 Warriors with bows count as they aren't there. So in the second list you only count 4 bows and 10 warriors. |

The above examples are good, also it's worth pointing out that the Rangers don't need to lead the Rangers directly in a Warband (which is how the OP makes it sound) in fact aren't they independent heroes? Which means that they cannot take Warbands for themselves |

That's true: Dunedain and Rangers of the North are indepent hero's |

I don’t think Frêrin’s second example is correct. The Rangers of the North/Dúnedain don’t cancel out the bows. If you want to use a Grey Company force then you can ignore the bow limit but every 4 Rangers of Arnor you need to take a Ranger of the North/Dúnedain. So in the example above you would need Warband 1 Malbeth 6 Warriors of Arnor 4 Rangers of Arnor Warband 2 Dúnedain Warband 3 Captain of Arnor 4 Rangers of Arnor Warband 4 Dúnedain |

It is correct. You are still allowed to take 1/3 bows. For each Ranger of the North/Dunedain you simply ignore 4 rangers of Arnor. |
