I've played a few games now and i've found that thhe low fight values of my troops cause me to lose to many fights, so I've tried to remedy this at the cost of a few less troops.........

I'd drop both sentinels to get 3 more guards, then spend the last 14 pts on shields for your dead warriors.
Although the sentinels would be good too I guess, because they wouldn't be able to be shot at because of the Elven cloaks and you always keeping them in cover.

Might be worth swapping a Sentinel for a Banner ?

I'd definitely swap a sentinel for a WoTD banner. I ran a list similar to this but 1000pts, I wasn't able to support every single warrior of the dead with an elf spear (and with 9 elves you can't either) but the 2 WoTD banners I had really pulled their weight. Defense 8 banners are nice too.

It is a good playing list, but theme-wise horrible...

It's for tournaments.......... my campaign list is more themed

Tournament doesn't mean it isn't LotR anymore it is totally horrible! It is a bit difficult to finde a strong themed list with the army of the dead. If you take the books as theme you only are able to take the grey company, but if you do it with the movies, you can take everything that fights at the pellenor. This means all Gondor and Fiefdoms and even Rohan. This should be enough to build a solid list.
