Currently hovering over the confirm order button for a pair of these. Love the number of attacks and enhanced movement. Don't have Riders yet, but my use of cavalry is pretty limited generally. Idea is to use 7 Warriors, 3 Royal Guard and a pair of these. Grimbold as the Hero. (woot! LOBR!!!) I am hesitant though, but I do need to round out my Rohan force. It all comes in safely under 200 points, so Wargear TBD. Or save the $$$ and convert Heroes I have and won't field? That question has more to do with aesthetics and not effectiveness. If you have them, tell me if they are as cool looking as I think they may be or if they are just 'meh... |

Both Sons of Eorl poses are fantastic, and in my opinion, they are two of the best models in the entire catalogue. I have 6 already (4 of pose 1 and 2 of pose 2), and I'm thinking about getting a couple more.... Go ahead and click purchase - you won't be disappointed ! |

I don't have sons of eorl, but I would like to recommend the YouTube videos from GBHL Podcast. They are using them in several battle reports so you see both, the miniatures and how they perform in game. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gz84_Iv5Q4 ... iRTKnAglAj |

They are great models but need to be complimented by other Riders of Rohan. They are great but they are a bit of a single trick. There's a battle report where they square off against a warband of Rivendell Knights and due to their flexibility, and arguably their woodland creature/elven fight value, they win comfortably. I personally prefer my cavalry to have bows or lances, but hey, extra movement, good armour and extra attacks. A must in a Rohan force. |

Pulled the trigger and got 3 of them. Hope I get both poses. |

Lol thanks for the shout out man. Um....I think both poses are pretty decent. I like the one with the axe down more actually....I think gaming wise theyre excellent.....but you have to be smart with them. Like all cavalry of course.....but I think with these guys you can just throw them into the fray a bit more and they can survive better because they have good fight and two attacks. They also have shields to stay alive and axes to piercing strike. Great all around models. I plan on converting and proxying a few of these as I dont wanna spend the money, and my Rohan army is also one of my lesser priorities. But be careful with them. If you play someone like me, I almost always max out my bow limit especially if you see me with elves....or Uruks.....then theres a good chance Im going to shoot your horses out from under you before you can do much with them unless you use terrain well or hide them till the last minute. |
