So I've been trying to make an Isengard scout army, and here's what I've come up with, somewhat based on models that I've got: Lurtz 12 uruk scouts (shields) Ugluk 5 uruk scouts (shields) 6 wildmen of Dunland(4 with 2h weapons) Isengard Troll Sharku (warg+shield) 6 warg riders (shields) 4 uruk scouts (shields) Grishnakh 12 orc warriors (spears) This is sort of a mash of the different scouting parties you see in the movie, with Lurtz and Ugluk, some wildmen, and Sharku and his wargriders, but also the company of orcs with Grishnakh that the Uruks run into. I also added a troll to add some punch to the list, and well because I have the model. So what I'm thinking about is switching out Lurtz for Mauhur (but I would have to get the model first, that's why Lurtz is there), and upgrading some (9 maybe?) of the scouts into marauders. This list is also somewhat of an experiment, with no archers, as I find the Evil sides shooting isn't as useful as the Good. I'm therefore thinking maybe I should remove three scouts and add a banner to one of them. So what are your opinions on this list? Thanks in advance. |

Id get Mauhur and upgrading more of them to Marauders. Imagin having half your army move 8....... |

Thanks for the replies! But I'm guessing I shouldn't upgrade all of them? Just 8 or 9 to use as flankers/getting around the enemy lines? Since a lot of the rest of the army is move 6" I don't want them to get left behind! Never used marauders before, so if anyone has any pointers on tactics, I would be very thankful! (And also how to model them, but that doesn't really belong in this forum. I'm thinking painting hands on their shields to seperate them from normal scouts) |
