So I'm playing a buddy who does all wood elves including the new legolas and probably treebeard maybe tauriel. All elves. So I'm trying to use one of two armies. They make no sense but we just play random stuff we like to try. So please don't talk to me about fluff or theme. I know they're crazy looking. One- Dark Marshall mtd. 6 Morgul knights Mahud King mtd 12 reavers Easterling Captain 10x Easterlings with pike Mahud Tribe master 6 mahud warriors 3 harad warriors with spears Army two- 3x ranger of the north Arathorn 12 rangers with spear Eowyn with horse shield armor 12 riders Gimli 10 Khazads One thing-we play to the death and literally I mean no break just obviously till one army can't compete. |

Well the second army is illegal for starters, way over bow limit with eowyns warband. Each faction has its own individual bow limits. |

I think you can drop wargear who is against limits. |

Lordofthebrownring, I think you made the common mistake to think that outriders fall under the same as riders of rohan, and thus have a no bow limit. But of course they are'nt the rules state, "riders of rohan" |

Wow guys I totally had a brain fart I mean to type riders of rohan. I don't even own an outrider. |

I don't know, its a close call for me. I like the magic in the first one, and the dwarf defense in the second one. I guess it depends on how far you have to walk under that elven bow fire... Can you squeeze the dwarves in the first one instead of the reavers? |

Nah we at least like to do good with good etc. How far you say? He always deploys as far as he can roll with only elves. But I think because he has treebeard he will be more ballsy and protective of the front line because I've swarmed and mutilated his eagles before. So likely to get to part of his army I won't have to go too far. I was thinking the arnor army deployment would be great because I'll barely have half my army down before he has to deploy treebeard so I can avoid him. |

i think two is your best bet. you can use the riders and eowyn to get in quickly and knock out his archers, cause we all know how deadly elf archers are. and the dwarves are gonna have a better defense against the bow attacks than the other units in army one because of higher defense value, so that would help. plus the extra attacks you will get with 13 mounted as opposed to 7 is better |

I prefer list number one, because you have a lot mminiatures with two attacks with the reavers. F 5 is also very good, because whenever woodelves loose a combat, they will probably die with their low D. With the easterlings behind them, they are very strong. I also like the magic, which is important against Treebeard. S 4 with is also very good against low D. |

Alright, based on the comments above I am swung towards the second army. Plus you have 27 bows. You should be able to put a hurting on anything without elven cloaks, and ride up to the things that do! If he deploys closer to the middle like you think he might, it will benefit you more. Good Luck!! |
