Gday guys, I'm really looking forward to playing my full khand list after finally getting my hands on some cav. The list so far: Khandish king on chariot with bow Khandish king on chariot with bow Easterling war priest (converted to look khand) 18 khandish warriors 11 khandish horsemen 3 chariots with bow Easterling banner (converted to look khand) Khandish cheif on chariot with bow I'll need to double check, but I reckon it rounds out to about 800 points. I'm really excited to dive into eastern kingdoms, which means Easterlings aswell, but I've got a load of them ready. So I'm looking forward to trying out this list a bit, possibly adding some easterlings to it, would love to get my hands on some more cav but then I might break the bow limit (which I think I have accidentally done above, will just be some tweaking of the numbers) Has anyone played much with or against Khand before? Do you rate having multiple kings, chariots, and using an easterling war priest? |

I have played against all Khand forces before and I have to say they are rather interesting. For your list I would recommend throwing out the grunt chariots and banner man. Use those points to upgrade your chieftain into a king and get more footmen. The kings have you covered for banner effects and the chariots for grunts are not going to do so hot most of the time. The kings on chariots or just on foot this massed infantry are pretty intimating and I would rate the them highly as combat heroes. What this the high fight banner effect and all. They have generally caused me a lot of trouble then playing without magic. Call wind will wreck them though so watch out for elven storm-callers The chariots themselves are pretty rubbish in my opinion. They can turn the kings into wrecking balls against cav and infantry alike. But they warriors can't compensate for they large base size and are prone to getting mobbed. They are just to expensive to be dedicated archers either so I would only ever consider using them for kings or maybe chieftains. The war priest is as good as you'd expect him to be. His fury helps counter your troops low defense, when it works that is. I think you could play without one for sure but it would not really be competitive. |

Thanks for the reply mate! Good point on dropping the banner, I guess a couple of kings do the job, was more thinking for VP's, but I bet 3 more fellows would probably do me better. Yeah monsters and natures wrath is gonna be a pain! It's a shame that khand charioteers are just not very good, the idea of them is awesome! I'd love it if they could barge. and the priest should be a bit of fun to play with, with the fury. Having a few playtests with the force this coming Tuesday! Hopefully I don't get too stomped. |

The problem you will have is that you've got 36 models, and it's not uncommon to see 50+ models at 850, even from elves. Ditch the warrior chariots for some more guys and ditch the war priest for another King on chariot- you're gonna need all the killing power you can get. |

I agree with the statement regarding the warrior chariots, but I believe he should keep the priest. All of Khand warriors are D4, which means that any enemy unit will need at worst a 5+ to wound, either by melee or arrows. They are very fragile and, even worst, they have no spear support so he needs all the channeled fury rolls he can get. |
