Given to the competitive nature of the game and I´ve been wondering about the Knights of Rivendell armies out there...

Trying this out, what you think?

Warband 1
Elladanand Elrohir /armour/horse/bow/heavy armour

Warband 2
Lindir/Horse/Heavy armour
9 knights of Rivendell

Warband 3
Ranger on horse with spear

Warband 4
Ranger on horse with spear

total: 500pts

I like it a lot. Why Lindir here and not just a captain? I dont have his stats in front of me but isnt he mostly good with Elrond? That and giving extra dice to resists? I guess that could be good for the twins.

How many Knights do you miss out on by taking the twins and the rangers instead? As good as the might is on the rangers it sucks how much worse they are then the knights as models once their might is gone. Maybe just one ranger at 500 since you get a ton of might off of the twins?

Twins are the same cost as Gandalf the Grey... which means 90 ea as it is...and prob you´re right 1 ranger might do the trick...

As for Lindir hes an elf warrior with S4 2 wounds C6 1/3/1, he does give a free will point to elrond around 3" of him... but his song its an ability that affects all friendly models within 6" and gives them resistant to magic... which means even the random knights can resist nature´s wrath and such things with a minimal sucess at least :)

Without the twins and 1 ranger... you would get nearly another 10 knights... without that... just fill up a random riv capt and another 5/6 knight warband...

Ooof that's a lot of knights lol. I like it but I would probably drop one of the rangers for another knight. Would you actually be able to get another 10? YOu'd need another captain, for a big chunk of those points then wouldn't you only be able to get like 3-4 more?

If I replace the twins for rivendell stuff I would have a captain and another hmm 4 knights (2 pts remain)

I dont think it justify, the twins dual 3 might and fight stances seems worth way more....

Sorry to interrupt with a silly question, but what's a 'Ranger'?
I can't find any in the Free Peoples books so I assume it's a 'Ranger of the North' from Arnor?

EDIT: And if that's the case. What kind of model do you use for a Ranger of the North on horse? An edited Rohan rider or something? Or is there an official mounted Ranger of the North model?

Pretty sure there is also a ranger of the north profile, which is the same as dunedain but with armor. Are they both in kingdoms of men probably?

No, only the RotNs can ride a horse. The dunedains' only optional extra is a spear.
