Warband 1
Cirdan
2 high elves with elf bow
4 high elves with shield and spear
1 high elf with elven blade

Warband 2
Erestor
4 high elves with elven blade
8 high elves with shield and spear

Warband 3
High Elf Stormcaller
5 high elves with elven bow
1 high elf with elven blade

All told its 499pts, unless my math is wrong somewhere, 28 models, and 3 whole might. I was trying to work out some way to get Cirdan onto the field with him getting stomped by a wraith. The thinking was that by going to a low points limit I might be less likely to run into one of the named ones. My game plan for the list as it stands is to use a channeled Aura of Dismay against melee armies and blinding light against shooting ones. Just holding with the shieldmen so the blades, bows, and Erestor can do the damage. I'm open to suggestions on troop allocation and hero choice, naturally.

For starters, I'd add a banner. Because of the Elves high F value, I think it's fair to say that a banner is worth more to Elves than to other factions.

Secondly, I'm not a big fan of the Stormcaller.

You're at an odd point size, where after your second warband, you have a block of points to spend. Adding another warband means adding another hero, which leaves you almost no points left for warriors though. I think rather than adding using the points on a "cheap" hero like the Stormcaller, I'd just keep the force to 2 warbands, and upgrade either Cirdan or Erestor for a stronger hero like Glorfindel or Gil-Galad.

Agree, I'd go two warbands, probably something like this....

Glorfindel with armor
5 Spear & Shield
3 Bows
2 Blades

Gil-Galad
5 Spear & Shield
3 Bows
2 Blades

22 models, 6 might

or if you want to add in a banner, then swap out Gil-Galad for Erestor, the banner and 3 more blades

Glorfindel with armor
5 Spear & Shield
3 Bows
3 Blades
1 Banner

Erestor
5 Spear & Shield
3 Bows
4 Blades

26 models, 4 might

Who is anyway? for the point cost the´res always better option... unless you´re a tactical genious and this stormcaller can actually pull a big gamble trick.

Then call me Hannibal because I always but them to good use in may 700-800pt lists. Mounted Captains/lessor heroes, cavalry, chariots, monsters with little to no will, shaman, budget wraiths, banners, dragons, warg marauders, and spiders are all prey to the mighty call winds spell. Plus, they can stun enemies with their staff when all their will is expended.

My fondness for Stormcallers aside, however, I think ja33's second suggestion looks pretty smart. I loose Cirdan though, which is unfortunate but easily mendable should I wish to replace Erestor for some variety. I don't loose much in model count either.
