So I want to get into the game but need help getting started with some simple armies. I have the goblin town set and a box of warriors of rohan. What would be the easiest way to get two small armies together for me and a friend to learn how to play the game. Any advice is hugely appreciated. Thanks you!

If you have the whole set of goblin town then you could have the goblins against rohan, just to get used to the basic army v army game. Then once you are used to the basics, include a hero on each side (gandalf / goblin king) and try your hand at some basic terrain (hills, rivers, low walls) that you could make out of card.

My very first few games I played were the old ROTK boxset and I remember I just ignored the points values per model, just put 'good v bad' and me & my brother had fun just learning the basics. Once we got used to that, we added in other rules in each battle, bit by bit.

Thanks, this is exactly what I'll do. Understanding that learning the very basics is the first step. Not going to bother with many of the extra rules.

If you have the whole escape from goblin town box you are good to start playing. Otherwise, pick a faction you like and focus buy. DCHL (the gbhl american counter part) has a few really good "how to buy and collect faction X" videoes which are all about collecting factions for about $100.

Well I have made 2 armies with what I have and ill just use 2 of the dwarfs as heroes for Rohan. Not really sure on the play styles of armies yet so want to hold off spending too much but going to go check out DCHL now!
