Shortly after the 4th Edition of 40K was released my buddy, who got me started in wargaming in general, talked me into starting an army so that he and I could have a little more variety in our gaming and begin participating in the local tournament scene.  I had narrowed down my choices to Tau or Daemonhunters when my friend informed me that he had purchased a Tau Battleforce, so my decision was, in a way, made for me.  However, I was excited to begin the new army, which would provide a different kind of challenge from the Lord of the Rings miniatures that I usually painted, and I thought it only appropriate that a minister should fight the Daemons!  Thus began my foray into Warhammer 40K.

Over time, I found the army to be consistently outclassed by other armies and had trouble remaining competitive with increasingly old and out-of-date rules.  After several disheartening defeats to the latest incarnation of the Chaos Daemons codex, I abandoned my project altogether until such time as the Daemonhunters were updated themselves.  That time has now come.

With the announcement of an impending release in April, I decided to dust off the old army and get it completely painted so that it is ready to see some action in the near future.  At present, I have about 2,500 points of Daemonhunters miniatures in varying states of completion.  My goal is to have every miniature completed prior to April 30, and only then will I allow myself to expand/update the army with reinforcements from the new releases.  The purpose of this thread is to document my progress and perhaps provide a little motivation for myself and others.
