Post subject: | Rules reference page |
I don't know if anyone still know my nick, I was quite active on the old GW board, back in the days. I made a model reference page, and I recently wanted to redo that effort, to make it easier to search for things. This evening I started building a data base and do some quick and dirty php coding to get some tests up. On the site adress in my signature, add test.php at the end too look at it. The reason behind this is to make sure you can find the correct place for all the rules and profiles out there (there are a lot of books and WD articles to go through), and with the army lists getting new additions within the WD articles I thought it would be neat if I could also create updated army lists (where I then will put information about what books/WD-articles is minimum need etc for each army list. I have 2 questions. 1) Do you guys think this may be useful? 2) How much information am I allowed to put up on the site? I would like to eg make the names clickable to show a page about that minature, and on that page list all special abilities that character has, with references to where these rules can be found, if they are not found at the same page as the character. |

Interesting. I like the idea a lot, having a searchable db to find out where the profiles are for a certain fig. I will definitely follow this. I think, however, listing special abilities might cross GW's line. Not sure though. |

I have worked some on the site today, and I would love some feedback. I have not started to work on the design yet, only the content. 1) Any information on a site like this you think is missing? 2) Any information that should be presented in more different ways? Since I this is database driven, it is easy to create different views of things. |

It sounds interesting, but it is missing some information. (But I think you know that..) |

but it is missing some information. (But I think you know that..) Well, I started building the database system yesterday, so I havn't had that much time to add things yet. Wanted some early comments, as it is often easier to fix things in the beginnig, before the system becomes to rigid. |

I have added more profiles now, and want some feedback on how to do some things. I have changed the way I present the information for Good models, where I have grouped the models by "Warrior", "Hero" and "Siege Engine". Should I do it the same way on the army page, or should I list the references bellow the name of the profile? Or is it enough to add the reference information to the profile page and just link the profile pages from the army lists? References for rules, wargear and magic will be added later, I start with the profiles. |
