My wife and I decided to focus on our own vision of gaming in Middle Earth using SBG, Battle Companies and The One Ring RPG as a project to replace my previous passion for computer gaming. So after a many year break from the hobby last year I went through the steps to relearn the basics.
Seems we missed the big days of SBG so we are playing catch up i what feels like the Fourth Age looking back to the glory days of the First Age.
My blog is a tool for me to record our progress but we are happy to share it with others, largely because I see feedback as a gift. I encourage advice, suggestions and recommendations on how we can improve our gaming experience.
Some of the things we are adding to the game are not strictly Tolkien purist approved but we are trying to keep the feel of Tolkien, even whilst combining Peter Jackson/Weta/Games Workshop aesthetics with more traditional historical Dark Ages as well as input from computer games, the animated movies and more. So lots of proxies and conversions. And all this on a budget so some compromises have been made.
