Dave, all untreated plant material is automatically confiscated by Australian Customs without exception. I ordered seafoam and birch tree seed pods from Antenociti and both have been seized, and a package which contained some synthetic leaves was opened and inspected by them too. Sometimes things do get missed by them, but they are getting better and better at detecting it.

Frustrating as heck, but I'm not going to criticise their diligence at all.

So, unless you can prove the stuff has been irradiated, then I doubt the fern leaves will get through. But it's not a big deal really, since there are other products that I could use to almost the same effect.

I must say, a Tree Giant army is looking very very tempting now.

Wow Aussie customs are strict! I didn't realise modelling materials were class 'A' drugs over there! Thanks for letting me know Alan. I tried casting metal versions but they were so brittle they didn't really work for a gaming mini. I have also been looking for plastic variations but have thus far been unsuccessful. The plastic plants I have seen to date are not fine enough for the look I was after.

And as for the details of the Threesome, it shall forever remain a dark secret of the OR chatroom.

It's all about protecting the native Australian flora and essential crops from diseases or parasites actually, and I am totally in favour of it. Still, ***** me off no end when they grab my stuff!

Anyone interested in watching the inspections can see it on a program called 'Nothing to Declare' - in Ireland it shows on TV3... I don't know about elsewhere but it is sundicated so you will probably see it on a variety of cable/satellite channels.

A couple of nights ago they showed some complete pillock who carried a load of fireworks and disposable cigarette lighters in his luggage! And raw dates, seeds, insect eggs... you name it, he had broken some rule or other. Fool of a Took!

Did you see the one where the Cuban lad was bringing back his wedding present of Cuban cigars and drums from his home country and was forced to pay $500 in duty or have them destroyed? That was cruel. :o

Hi all, I know this post is ancient, but I'm Australian and I got my Tree - with ferny bits - in the mail no problems. Maybe because the customs people were unaware, but just saying I got it =)
Also - it's awesome =)

Cheers Sim. Thanks for letting us know. I've sent several to Australia now with no problem at all.
