looks very nice. I'm wondering how they get around the licensing thing.

Well it is not an exact replica of the film version though it is a plausible substitute, so maybe the lawyers will hang fire on that account. It looks to me like the original was created using Hirst Arts blocks.

Most definately.

Nice piece of terrain! Though it is a bit expensive , I think you'd be able to buy the molds from Bruce hirst directly and make your own.

Post subject:  Questions about Amon Sul.

Thanks for taking in interest in the Amon Sul piece. You are correct that it is constructed from Hirst Art blocks. I share your concern that it is priced high, but if you have worked with Hirst molds you know it takes considerable time to cast the pieces, assemble them and paint them. In addition, I pay a royalty to Hirst Arts for each one sold and added costs such as time to photograph, post the release, submit it to news sites, etc. make the investment for a piece like this considerable for a single person operation such as TerranScapes. Also consider that the TerranScapes piece comes to you ready to play and finished to a very high standard when judging its value. :)

As an alternative perspective, to build it yourself would require two Hirst molds costing $68 plus shipping, and that cost does not include plaster, vibrating table, hardboard base, flock, foliage, adhesives, etc.

Community feedback such as this is really helpful and important to TerranScapes. Please continue to provide information and opinions on releases. Of course, suggestions for other releases are also always welcome and can be submitted directly through TerranScapes contact page.

Thanks.
