Forge World are re-releasing Amon Sul / Weathertop again this year and are taking orders right now. Apparently they are in extremely limited numbers. Cost including shipping to the U.K is £224.00. Order placed and paid for Thanks Forge world

224 pounds?....ehm no thanks, very nice scenery though.
In the beginning I bought Attack at Weathertop and I often played the scenario, those were nice battles.

So DMS has achieved another goal - good for you! you have 24 hours to complete the piece. This posting with self destruct in its own good time...

I knew they would. It is a spectacular piece. I've crafted mine into the table complete with a small side cave and stairs to play on that I actually cut a small opening for the stairs to meet up with the ruins. You'll enjoy it and I look forward to seeing what you do with it. I'm glad I got it way back in the day as I think I paid in U.S. Dollars less than what you are paying in pounds. Nevertheless it is worth every penny.

Looks like a fantastic piece, but I've always wanted to try my hand at making one, like in the FotR Journeybook. I can't wait to see it all painted up, though!

I only saw one a couple of times at my local (former) GW (now it's a bloody travel agent's shop :( ) but it looked pretty small. I don't know if it comes pre-painted or if the owner painted it like this, but it was an odd sandstone colour. Like old Bleached Bone was used for the final highlight. All in all very odd and expensive, so my father and I built our own when I was about 15.

The instore models were only "half" versions of Amon Sul. They do not come pre-painted so the story just did a poor job. The model is scale and really large. You can see a version in the link that will follow here on my game table: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=23751

Scroll down through until you get a look at the whole game table. That will give you a glimpse of the scale and size of it . . . the in store version is also in this thread just above the game table view . . . its a half circle as opposed to the complete circle of Amon Sul.

Ah, that makes much more sense then! I just remember being very under-whelmed when I saw and played a game on it. They didn't mention it was only the half version, but they DID mention I could buy one for around $300 iirc. Mine is 12" from wall to wall, with an extra 1.5-2" of base around it.

I have mine already since a couple of years ago, and I can say.. it's a lot of money... but the quality is amazing!
Although, don't expect flash-free resin though... I have some parts where like huge sheets of transculant resin curtains cover the windows...
I had expected more of the quality of the castings, but it's not like there are bubbles or so, just flash that you can easily cut off.
The entire model looks fabulous anyway. (eventhough I still haven't assembled it after all those years...)

I see there's one on ebay with a buy-it-now pricetag of £220 inc postage. Alternatively, bidding is currently at £0.99 with 4 days to go but reserve not met.
