Guys, I just ordered Mines of Moria Hobby Set (the set with the 12 paints included) along with the scenario book Fellowship of the Ring, a selection of Wood Elves and some Warg Riders (box set). I'm hoping that will be enough to get me started. Any suggestions for further additions (on both good and evil sides) ? Cheers, Arthur |

Yep, you need some heroes. Legal armies require a hero to lead them. Not that you can't use one of the plastic models as a hero, just be sure to distinguish him in some way. You might also quickly find that you'll need a copy of Legions of Middle Earth. It has rules for legal army lists and alliances that are pretty much essential to maintain good game balance. The point costs in the army lists are out of date, but the sourcebook from the relevant region has the most recent info. |

if u are new to the hobby. that moria box contains everything u need. perhaps some 2 or 3 paints not, but u'll see it later on. U can play 4 scenarios and it's really cool. when u know the rules of that small games, u can learn the bigger ones.. |

I started with the Mines of Moria set and haven't looked back! I even got my wife to play (as the good guys) to help me learn the rules. The scenarios in it are fun and introduce you to how the game works really well (in my opinion anyway!). Since then I've expanded my goblin horde, but still am using a lot of the scenery bits, goblins and the cave troll that came with it! I'm sure you'll have a great time with it! As already mentioned, you'll need a hero for your evil characters. All I did was base one of my gobbies on a bit of cork so that he stood a cm taller than the others as well as giving him a little more colour and making his armour shiny rather than rusty/old. Anyways, hope you enjoy it all =) |

I have just one more scenario left in my Mines of Moria box set. It's a great value! You'll have an awesome time! I picked up the Goblin Captains this weekend as heros for the evil side. (I think that works, right?) |

If your adding to your army then yes. You don't need any more models to play the Mines of Moria scenarios, but fell free to do so - just make sure it's fair points wise. |
