Post subject:  Help converting mounted Rangers of the North

The rules provide for Rangers of the North to take mounts, but I have never seen any made or converted before. My plan:

1)Take a Rider of Rohan, specifically one of the riders wearing chainmail

2)using green stuff, add the surcoat the old ROTN models wear

3)add the star of the north broach to the cloak

4)either headswap or green stuff to make the spangenhelm

5)weaponswap if necessary

Any thoughts? Perhaps a source for helms to avoid destroying my ROTN? Any alternative ideas to make them, or photos of your efforts?

I think your process sounds good, but consider just making a hood/cloak to take care of the difficulties with the head gear.

Maybe yoou could take a look at the haradrim raider conversion article ( http://www.one-ring.co.uk/phpBB2/kb.php?mode=article&k=487 ) and use the same technique (so you don't have to pay for those RoR and could just use ebob's spare horses by example).

Just a tip

There was a nice Mounted ranger converted by Corai over on Warseer. If you click this link then scroll to the bottom to see the pre painted conversion.

http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2569942

It's painted up on page 2 of the thread.
