as the name suggests, i'm having a problem with basecoating.....(at least i think its a problem). i was preparing to paint my very first miniatures but when i basecoated them, the paint was very grainy (looks almost like sand was glued to the miniature and then painted). btw i purchased the skull white spray can at a local hobby store (may have been old paint).

also is there anyway i can remove the paint efficiently with harming the miniature???

How far away are you holding the spray can? I think this happens when the paint partally dries before hitting the fig (I think).

Nitromors will strip the paint and not damage the mini.

When spraying, make sure you have shook the can for a good 2-3 minutes to ensure that the flow is good, make sure the nozzle is clear (use brass rod or a pin to clear it) and do a test spray before putting it anywhere near the mini. Spray in short controlled bursts, passing over the model, the spray should start before you reach it, and end after you have passed it. Make sure that it is not too cold/warm, and that it is not humid ether.

Only if they're metals...

(Don't know about Finecast, but I wouldn't risk it with my first purchase).

Very true.

Use kitchen/oven cleaner for plastic and finecost minis.
