So while snickering about my friend going on about how awesome aragorn is and how bad he wants him we got into a minor disagreement. For the mighty hero rule he gets to use a might point a turn without reducing his might pool... But what happens if he reduces it to 0? I know its a minor detail, but I like to pay attention to details. In my point of view, you can't spend something you no longer have, even if its free. In his opinion, since it says nothing about it, and there is nothing to suggest he is actually "spending" a point then you can still use 1 might a turn with 0 might. |

I'm afraid your friend is correct. Compare the phrasing between Aragorn's ability and Eorl the Young's. If you need to have might to use the ability they say you spend the might and then regain a point, whereas Aragorn's ability simply never deducts a point of might so he doesn't need any might for the ability to work. Essentially, Aragorn's ability is an improved form of "Touched by Destiny" |

Aragorn always has a free might point... Even if his Might is 0 |

I agree with the above. |

Yes, it does say in the rule: He may expend one point of Might per turn without reducing his Might store. That means he gets one free then after that he reduces his store as normal. 'FireKnife' |

I also agree with the above |

Appears fairly unanimous. A free Might point per turn is a free Might per turn, regardless of having other available Might or not. Could be worse. Could be a free Fate point per turn. |

Its roughly the same wording in SBG.... I wasn't aware it wasn't for both. |

It says that he can use one point of might without reducing his store, I was under the impression that you actually have to have might in order of get the free point, the reducing his store part being the key. If this is the case, then Aragorn is a heck of alot better than I initially thought, also that would mean that the wizards in SBG (same wording for a slightly different rule) are also alot more powerful than I thought. |

The wizards can definately cast without will, its the Aragorn that is uncertain |

I'm pretty sure the wording is the same, so the rule should be the same. |
