Im waiting for my Kingdoms of men book to show up but im feeling rather impatient. I want to start Fiefdoms as i really like the models more than anything and im looking forward to the modelling project just as much as battling with em. I used to play all the way up to ROTK but never had a good army I want to use Prince Imrahil and probably forlong and Angbor (as they both seem relatively cheap) Duinhir seems a little expensive for a ranged hero. Im not sure if i want a warband soley dedicated to ranged attack instead ill just split em up between warbands. So who are the best heroes we have? Im defently want mounted knights but not sure if i want knights on foot. They do seem the best defensive unit with def 6 especially backed up by M@A (those pikes look breakable tho). I wanna include a mix of axemen and clansmen. Which do better? Id be thankful for any advice on Fiefdoms. Thanks |

Hi. I play Fiefdoms; Use Axemen and Clansmen as your main infantry, and make sure to take Imrahil for some punch. The only cavalry you have is Swan Knights, so take them with Imrahil. You need ranged weapons, so have some Blackroot Vale archers led by Duinhir, or a Grey Company. You could also ally Minas Tirith... If you are playing high points, Boromir and the Prince will utterly destroy ANYTHING in their way. Happy Fiefdomming! |

Good luck with building your army, most of those models are metal so it's going to cost you a bit to build it! Still it will be worth it to field such a strong, good looking army - how cool! |

Just a friendly reminder to watch your numbers. KoDA are powerful tools if used properly, but if you bring too many you will quickly find yourself outnumbered, then 1 bad priority... |

Fiefdoms is very much an elite army, with expensive Heroes and Warriors. Here's a quick overview: Prince Imrahil - a very powerful Hero boasting impressive stats; he is expensive, but justifiably so Forlong the Fat - a solid Hero with a good supply of Might Angbor the Fearless - much like Forlong, but perhaps a little more aggressive Duinhir - quite a specialist Hero, and maybe a little overpriced Captain of Dol Amroth - the cheapest Hero available, which isn't saying much Knight of Dol Amroth (on foot) - they're pretty good, probably your standard unit in a Fiefdom's army Knight of Dol Amroth (mounted) - arguably the best cavalry in the game, but very expensive Men-at-Arms of Dol Amroth - one of a few units in the game that wields a pike, there can be a great asset Axeman of Lossarnach - an interesting and adaptable warrior Clansman of Lamedon - fairly aggressive with a two-handed sword and little armour Ranger (of Gondor/Fiefdoms ?) - good archers, and not too expensive; can also provide spear support Blackroot Vale Archer - much like Duinhir, very specialist and perhaps slightly overpriced |

Don't throw Angbor into combat straight away, except where you will probably win combat. I would suggest against using Imrahil until you reach 750+ Points, unless you include loads of Knights of Dol Amroth. The lesser heroes of the fiefdoms. I don't think Pikemen are really necessary unless you include Imrahil, as Axemen can serve a similar purpose, although they work well charging into combat. Knights of Dol Amroth (Foot) can work as the anvil for your army, forming a line in the centre (backed up by a few Axemen), whilst Clansmen (with Angbor) flank one side and Axemen flank the other. This tactic is similar to Dwarven tactics (who also lack spears). Mounted Knights aren't necessary, but if you take them I suggest taking two or three and putting them with the clansmen. Something like this would probably work well for you, using the new warbands system, it's approximately 485 Points (I used a similar list in the old system): Warband 1: Forlong the Fat 12 Axemen of Lossarnach Warband 2: Angbor the Fearless 12 Clansmen of Lamedon Warband 3: Duinhir 12 Archers of Blackroot Vale/Rangers of Gondor Or, if using the old system (approximately 500 Points): Forlong Angbor 12 Knights of Dol Amroth 9 Axemen of Lossarnach 12 Clansmen of Lamedon 12 Rangers of Gondor - 4 with Spears Hope this helps |
