I have managed to finally find a wotr rulebook and buy it. So, while waiting for it, are there profiles/extra non sbg models in it (like werewolf and giant, or is it in the battle host book? |

There are a few bits in there that are not in SBG. Most are different versions of existing troops like Theodreds knights etc. I don't have the battle host book though so I suspect there are More in there. |

There are no new profiles in "Battlehosts". In this expansion there are new rules for collecting specific force. It is a very cool supplement for WOTR. |

There is a Battlehost that has a bunch of Trolls in it. Been ages since I cracked that badboy open, as I am only running SBG now. But specifically, No, there are no Giants or new profiles whatsoever in Battlehosts. |

It is a totally different system than SBG. There is a Hill Troll, if I am remembering correctly, in it. There are some other profiles in it that never got models as well. Not tons, but a handful. But this system is stand alone from the SBG. It's for Mass Battles. When boxes had 24 troops in them, you could build a 3 company formation. Model counts now halved and prices increased, WOTR is a significant investment. |

Hi If you mean "are there any profiles not in the Strategy Battle Game Rulebooks in the War of the Ring?" then yes, there are. The SBG and WotR are two different gaming systems, although they both use GW's range of The Lord of the Rings miniatures. The SBG is a skirmish gaming system, and the WotR is a mass battles gaming system, so all profiles in the WotR are different from the profiles in the SBG. In the WotR, there are also profiles for models GW has never even made. Examples: Wardens of the Keys, Wardens of the Carrock, Dunlanding Horsemen, Stone Giants, Queen BerthĂșthiel, Carn DĂ»m Warriors, and Werewolfs, etc. You would have to convert these (there are plenty of ideas out there) or buy alternative miniatures. You can also always use proxies. It's a beautifully made book and rule system, pity GW stopped selling it. We have it and are very pleased with it. It does require a large collection of models to play though. But it's worth it. Cheers |
