Hello everyone, I'm just starting with LOTR SBG and I have a few questions about the rules. I've read through the old Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey rule book, so it may just be a case that I need to update but still. Questions: 1. Is armour (Heavy and Dwarf also) included in the statline of a model if that model has armour in it's wargear? 2. If a model has a shield in it's wargear, does it have the extra defence point in it's statline? 3. If a model is trapped, does the attacker double his attacks when trying to win the fight? Also, anyone know why GW removed Uruk Hai crossbows from the store for like 8 months, before returning them recently? Does this mean that they will do the same with other models such as the Ruffians? Thank you for your time people |

1 yes 2 yes 3 if a model is trapped and you win the fight. It is knocked prone and then you double your attacks. |

It isn't knocked prone unless it's from a cavalry charge. |

Ok, thanks guys. Also, should I update my rule book to the new BOFA one? Is it really worth the money or should I just put that time into trying to find a sourcebook? |

Each attacker doubles his attacks if they win they fight and the models is then trapped. It doubles the rolls to wound, not to win. Quote: if a model is trapped and you win the fight. It is knocked prone and then you double your attacks A model is knocked prone only by successful cavalry charge, Sorcerous Blast, Bash strike and when thrown by a monster (that includes models who survived the hit). A regular fight does not end with anyone getting knocked prone. |

There is no rule update, you just get the rules for the new miniatures such as Smaug... I don't know if it is still possible but search for black library on the internet. You can download the BOFA rules for free. |

Thanks again guys. If I'm using The Hobbit models, can I take say, Azog in a warband of Goblin Town Goblins or Legolas in a warband of Laketown Guard? I've seen that some sites (such as GW) don't make any distinctions between different armies in the hobbit. Thanks. |

No, models can only lead warbands from their respective army lists. so Azog can only lead Hunter Orcs/ Gundabad orcs. |

Azog with his troops can be allied into an army with heroes and troops from for example Goblintown. It should however be said you could take Azog on his lonesome without warriors. Allied in to a Goblintown army. For example: - Goblin King + 12 Warriors - Grinnah + 12 Warriors - Goblin Captain + 12 Warriors - Azog w/white Warg The same scenarios applies for Legolas. |
