The main two place I purchase miniatures online is eBay I also would buy off game workshop. I'm wondering if anybody has any other ideas of places I could purchase from online.

For LotR, Ebay is your best bet. Be sure to check the seller has decent feedback, and check you know what you are getting, and you should do well there.

If you are in the UK, the 3 main GW discounters are Wayland Games, Element Games and Darksphere. Darksphere don't stock that much LotR, but are good for The Hobbit (around 20% off, decent delivery time), Element have most of the stuff that isn't OOP as abour 20% off and very good delivery if it's in stock, and Wayland have the best discount (25%) but their delivery speeds can be hit-and-miss, so if you order from them, email them to see if the product is actually in stock first.

Hope that helps.

If you are in the US the warstore gives 20% off all GW products.
I haven't ordered from them personally, but I've heard good things from other people.
