Playing our first real game with high elves only a few hundred points and not sure what I will be facing. Plan yo take the brothers, which once they are kited out with bows horse and armour leaves just enoughpoints for one warband. Any advice re tactics ? |

For high elves, shields so you can get to D6. If you can, get the spear too. You don't need both spear and shield. In fact, depending on how much you want to mod your minis, I recommend buying a few Last Alliance packs and modifying 6 elves with shield for your front rank, and six with spear for your back rank. Once you are in combat, have your swordsman feint and, ideally, use Gil-Galad as a hero so you can upgrade your spear elves to king's guard for a sweet Fight 6. Two attacks, one feinting, D6, what more could you ask for? As far as bows go, I like bows, but high elves can hold their own without them. |

I kinda like to have the elven blade without shield so you can 2-handed if you have the chance. Fight 5, Def 6 (with shield), is great but only one unit to use and it has str 3, you can feel frustrated about not having killing power. Taking so much point in the twins is risky. At 350 points I thought Erestor plus High elf Captain did pretty well for me. 400, Twins plus erestor! I try to not take more than half of the points in heroes but trying to get as many troops as possibly. F 5 plus more archers hitting on 3+ if not moved is always nice to have! |
