Many of the scenarios are smaller. Some are 2'x2', much more manageable for a new player. I cut 1/4" plywood into 2' squares so I can mix and match elements. GW's tiles are this size, and so are Ziterdes's. You can buy a pre-flocked paper mat from Woodland Scenics and use it as is, or glue it to plywood tiles.
