Hi, The witch king's special rule states that when he is somewhere behind a friendly formation, that formation automatically passes its at the double! rolls and terror tests. Does this also apply to the formation that the witch king is placed in?

I would allow that and say it's in the spirit of the special rule. I believe they worded it thinking in terms of having the WK on his Fell Beast, driving his forces forward. But it would be pretty silly to say he has no effect on his own Formation.
