Guys just wanting to clarify a point in fights...

I have seen this played differing ways hence the question...

Ok, scenario; model with a two handed weapon is in a fight ( and is fighting with it two handed). The model will receive a -1 to the duel roll as per the rules...

This model now gains a spear support (now allowed as per new Hobbit rules)...[ the same query situation will apply if this spear armed model could move into base contact with the enemy model]

Now the question, must I specify which dice is rolled by the 2HW warrior to apply the -1 modifier to, OR can I simply attribute the highest dice thrown to the spear armed model, and thus not be concerned by the penalty incurred by the 2HW wielder (This assumes both these models have the same fight value).[If the latter is true this makes using 2HW weapons a no-brainer if you have spear supports]

As mentioned above I have seen this played both ways... so wanted a definitive answer on this one...

You must differentiate the two or it is effectively cheating/exploiting the game. But it doesn't matter what fight value they each have, as only the highest fight value is counted on each side during the fight.

Wouldnt that make elven blades a bit more usefull ? i never used them two handed, but backed up by spears or galadhrim pikes, They can win and have a better killing change ..

That's the point. Gw finally realized the elven blade was horrid and made it more useful. Can now be supported by spears and used as a tie breaking machine.
