quick question - does heroic accuracy do anything if used by an Evil player shooting into combat? it seems a bit unclear but I'm veering towards no effect?

I am almost positive that heroic accuracy would allow you to re-roll your 'in the way' tests for shooting into combat as an evil player, just like any other 'in the way' test. It makes the heroic action slightly more useful for evil players than good ones.

yeah that's how I read it the first time around - but the bit that has me veering towards no effect is that heroic accuracy lets you re-roll failed in the way checks. When shooting into combat you never fail to hit something (now you could argue that you failed to hit your original target) because you never fail to hit something you can not re-roll? I do tend to shoot into combat a fair bit especially when monsters show their ugly head but usually I care little for whom I hit.

failed to hit rolls means that you didn't your initial target and that you hit something else. so yes the heroic shoot will effect that roll.

In the rulebook, p.34, under the section called "Shooting at model engaged in combat", it is written " finally, you'll need to make a special In The Way test: roll a D6 to see who in the Fight is hit". :)

"Accuracy" is hitting something you aimed for. If you hit your friend instead of the monster, you 'failed' that In The Way roll--and the Heroic Accuracy allows you to re-roll (IMHO).
