There is a big difference between film/books and the game. Legolas did not have his auto-hit from the start and was really balanced back then. Then fans complanied about how he fires into combat in the Movies and GW actually listend and gave him his auto-hit which has ruined him for me. I totally agree that Legolas should roll for mount or rider beacuse of the wording, while I may agree that it was not the intent of the rule, it is how I would interpret it with the current wording. Have fun slaktarn

Hey all, just as an update to this, someone finally challenge the Legolas ruling on the GBHL group!
After a LONG discussion (over 200 comments in 24 hours!) the vote ended up 38-19 in favour of 'Yes, Legolas does have to randomise to see if he hits the horse or the rider'.
It was as divisive as expected but, after a long discussion and good arguments from both sides you can see that there was a clear majority in favour of him having to randomise so that's the way we're keeping it for the FAQ.
The opinion was swayed somewhat by the fact that in GW's official FAQ for the Kingdoms of Men it states that the King's Huntsman (who only fails ITW rolls on a 1) still hits the horse on a 1-3. This ruling implies that either the roll to determine if you hit the mount/rider is not a normal ITW roll or that special rules that affect ITW rolls do not apply to the mount/rider roll.
It's obviously no more official than it was previously but I thought some users on here might be interested to see that the majority of gamers were in favour of Legolas having to randomise.
