Post subject: | sentries and becoming alerted |
Guys, just wanting clarification regarding rules for sentries. Does each sentry have to become alerted on an individual basis, OR, once one sentry has become alerted, they all are? Thanks for any thoughts Cheers Scott |

Does it say anywhere that they all are allerted? You could always include an alarm in your games where an allerted sentry can run to to allert all the other sentries. |

I'd say all of them are alerted once the criteria has been met because the text mentions Sentries and not just Sentry. Also the idea of a sentry is to give an alarm if intruders are spotted, so they must alert the others. |

In the rule book is a section about sentry's. If there is a miniature closer than .?. inch/cm it is warned and you have to throw a dice. I don't know which page, but before all the profiles. |

Yes that is the logical answer, it's just that as is often the case, the text could be seen as ambiguous. The text says: "The sentries become alerted to the enemy if:" And then it lists the events. It would have been better worded perhaps to say "ALL sentries on the board become alerted to the enemy if any of the following, happen to any sentry on the board:" |

Sorry for that. |

I've always taken it that all would be alerted. I have the MoM rulebook and it says: "The Sentries on the board become alerted to the enemy if:" Unless it's been changed, I think that tells us all we need. It does make sense, because the Sentry who spots the enemy, or is shot, would shout to his fellow sentries to raise the alarm, as Hithero said. |
