Post subject: | cavalry charge bonus SBG |
Had a great game the other day; Gondor vs an evil alliance of Moria, with Angmar and Dol Guldur (mostly because I wanted to try out several models I had painted but not yet played with. A few queries came up regarding the Gondor knights and their cavalry bonus on the charge (extra attack and knock down). The rule states this bonus applies where the enemy charged are "warriors on foot". That fine when all your "warriors" are bipedal humanoids, but what happens against; wargs giant spiders giant bats or any other oddities I haven't thought of above... I was going to add trolls to the above, but I think I have worked that out; They would get the extra attack but not the knock down as the troll is "S6 or above". comments welcome Scott |

All models are on foot unless desribed as cavalry, wargs, giant spiders and bats are not cavalry. You got the troll right One other point though that fools 99% of new players is that you cannot just double the dice, roll and allocate to model in combat. You have to allocate the hits and then roll 2x dice to wound the model. |

I can go with you on the wargs and spiders, but cannot accept a Bat swarm is "on foot". However , I can agree, with the abstract, that the cavalry impetus of the charge could disperse the bats, and could therefore achieve the same effect... |
